How does Calmare Therapy works:

Calmare® Pain Therapy Treatment uses a biophysical rather than a biochemical approach. A 'no-pain' message is transmitted to the nerve via disposable surface electrodes applied to the skin in the region of the patient's pain. The perception of pain is cancelled when the no-pain message replaces that of pain, by using the same pathway through the surface electrodes in a non-invasive way. Regardless of pain intensity, a patients's pain can be completely removed for immediate relief.

Maximum benefit is achieved through follow-up treatments. The patient may be able to go for extended periods of time between subsequent treatments while experiencing significant pain control and relief. The period of time between treatments depends on the underlying cause and severity of the pain in addition to other factors.  During the Calmare therapy sessions apart from the small vibrations felt from the Calmare electrodes, there is no pain elicited during the treatment and there are no know side effects of Calmare Therapy.There is normally immediate pain relief during the Calmare therapy session.

Normally to treat pain conditions including neuropathic or nerve pain, 10 Calmare sessions are given , each session of duration 30-45 min, depending upon the underlying pain condition for example in Neuropathies like CRPS a total 10 to 12 Calmare Therapy sessions are given, each Calmare therapy session is given daily of 30-45 min duration, Monday to Friday and treatment is over in 10 working days. For the Oncologic (Cancer) pain, each session can be of 60 min in duration with 12 -14 Calmare sessions are given in total. Some patients may require a few booster sessions after a few months, if required.
